The Hagazussa protective amulet features two crossed Hawthorn twigs cast in sterling silver and hung upon a sturdy sterling silver cable chain. The Hawthorn tree is both revered and feared. It's a tree with many ties to old superstitions and folklore relating to death and witchcraft, but also a tree known for it's protective ways. Thorn magic is often employed in protective spells, the thorn itself is protective in nature, warding off those who dare to get too close. It is said that the Hawthorn tree can turn itself into a witch on All Hallows Eve.
This necklace has been oxidised to bring out the textured surfaces. Sterling silver may further oxidise over time due to the skins natural oils.
