Dissolution V

'SOLVE ET COAGULA: Dissolve and Coagulate.'

This collection focuses of the alchemical process of Dissolution (also referred to as 'The Black phase'), the gentle yet persistent force of change. The further breaking down of ones self and ego, dissolving the ashes down into liquid form. This process is associated with the Element of Water, symbolised by the onyx teardrops throughout this collection. Tears are a symbol of shedding, cleansing and purification, a physical act one could say of the process of Dissolution. The bones found throughout this collection symbolic of ones need to remain grounded and connected to the Element of Earth throughout this process. They are also a symbol of laying ones bones bare, the shedding of layers until there is only the primal materials left.

This talisman features two small crow talons cast in sterling silver, two recycled faceted glass beads, along with a solitary black onyx teardrop, hung upon a 50cm sterling silver oval belcher chain secured by a hand formed clasp.

This talisman has been oxidised to bring out the textured surfaces. Sterling silver may further oxidise over time due to the skins natural oils.
